Rinda Sells
Rinda Sells, a petite bowler with a powerful impact, has made the ten pound spinner work her. Rinda started bowling in 1965 at the age of 21 in Alexandria, VA. Right away she started making history on the lanes. Her average that year was 150 and to top that, bowling in her first tournament that year, she had her first 600 series, won the tournament and a new 1965 Corvair.! A very impressive start that would put her in the records books along with the many titles and trophies over the years.
Rinda was born in Bottom Creek, West Virginia, a very small town and today is only a road. Moving to Michigan in 1975, Rinda started her bowling career. In 1978 she joined more and more leagues and along with her husband of 39 years, Wayne, they have been bowling in mixed leagues since 1982. Wayne is very proud of all of Rinda's accomplishments. Rinda has one daughter, Bobbie, also a bowler who at the State Tournament on April 8th and 9th, tied her mother's record with an 1809 All Events actual score. Will she follow in her mother's footsteps? Bobbie even made one of Rinda's rooms into a trophy showcase and what a showcase it is.!
