John L. Peoples
John got interested in the sport of bowling at the age 16, while working for Seiferts Bowling and Billiards. He lived in Grand Haven all his life but was a member of and bowled in the Grand Haven, Holland, Grand Rapids and Muskegon associations, winning honors in all of them. His team in the 50's and 60's was the powerful Wolverine Express. While bowling in Muskegon he was on nine City Team Championships, teamed with different partners to win the Doubles Championships four times, and one the Singles and All-Events titles once each. While bowling in the ABC tournament in 1965, the Wolverine Express Team finished in fourth place. His average in the Muskegon association was 202 and his highest series was 738. While doing all of his bowling, he still found time to be the Grand Haven Association Secretary for 31 years, from 1958 to 1989. He was the first man to bowl a 300 game in the Grand Haven association. He was indeed s " classic league bowler".
